How evenings are spent

Yes, about three times a week, whenever there's no class or even if there is, I try to make it back in time to ball back in high school. With both, juniors and seniors, it's nice to see one another and play a good game of ball. And of course, I want to burn them fats :P

I've also always wanted to shoot them playing whenever I watch OTH. Seeing how Quinn photographs the ballers and River Court made me want to do same likewise. So yes, I finally took the camera along to court. I would definitely like to try shooting in film as well, must remember to bring Holga out one evening :D

And these were the happy faces of them ballers on a lovely Monday evening,

and I'm definitely missing ballin' now that is the fasting month. Oh well, maybe I should fast a little then since there's no balling going on. Hahahahha. Happy fasting ya'll. xx

Kerala, Trivandrum

Coconut trees were seen almost everywhere, coconut was served as welcome drinks almost every time too! So yes, by then I knew I was in India alright, of coconuts, buttermilk & papadom. This getaway was a lovely one, with college mates.

The sunrise and sunset were all amazazinggggg. I lovelovelove it! Too bad I was sick midway through the trip, so I was too sick and energy level was at zero to even take the camera out, sigh. And yes, I was in the jinx of going to India and having some kinda stomach upset and such. Eyuck, it was horrible and disgusting I tell you :P

The one night stay at the boathouse was nice too, except for being sick started right after we left the boathouse, haha. The food was so so good, yummy and fresh! We even got to watch the WC via satellite and woke up so so early in the morning to take pictures and was greeted by the awesome misty sunrise, kids going to school with the school boat instead of bus, housewives rolling out their chores and etc. And oh! Bathing with freezing icy cold water reminded me of NS, good thing I had a good three month practice :)

See, I kid you not about the coconut trees :P

And of course, a HUGE thank you goes to Govind and his family. We had a great holiday, thank you all the planning, good food and warm company :)

Digital Photography's Final Assignment

It was crazily hard thinking of a theme to do, Daffee was pushing me to the maximum possible, finally we agreed on something.

The theme was The Strength Of Women In Life and the doughnut that was in every picture was as a comfort food through life and it slowly gets less and less as a little girl grows up to an elderly lady. It was fun buying doughnuts every week and getting them "models" to pose for me. What made it extra special was everybody that was featured were people very close and dear to me :) We have Olivia & Isabel to My Lovelies to Chechi to Mommy and Grandmother. And thankfully, the judges were pleased with all the pictures and the comments by them made my day indeed. I was worried they wouldn't understand the theme, but I was wrong, they loved it and completely understood everything including the float to resemble a doughnut! :P A first mini exhibition was definitely a huge success! And here's a huge thank you to everyone who helped from giving ideas to being models and reminding me not to give up. Hugs.

ps; and now the frame featuring Ollie & Issie has signatures and kind words from everyone at the exhibition sitting in my room. it reminds my why I love photography and to keep pursuing it even further :)

Basketball

The annual MSSD basketball tourney was held in april. this time around, at taman hijau, rawang. no longer it is at kepong; segar has been dominating since ramesh took charge training them. so yes, at least there's a change of venue now. despite only having one court, but on the brighter side, it has a roof so rain or shine, the games went on :)

the melawati kids did fairly alright, the girls won 3rd&4th for U18 and U15 respectively. the boys didn't make it through the quarters. the standard has dropped, and we can now see more malay schools coming up and playing better basketball. which is a good thing. but the rivalry, cheering and mocking between schools is still there, hasn't change in any bit :)

Been ballin' with them and a few seniors since before mssd till now. feels good to be on court to burn them fats!! :D i try my very best to make it in the evenings even after class and crazy load of assignments :(

ps; but i miss kepong's cheap & good food and also the gorgeous sky and sunlight we used to get there making photos lavleh looking, tsk tsk.

Olivia & Isabel were such great help when I needed some photos for my final photography assignment which was a mini exhibition of our works to be displayed in the school's lobby. Immediately, both of them came to mind when I needed kids. Thankfully, their mama was supportive and the girls gladly played along and had fun being in front of the camera. It's so nice looking back at their photos from when they were just babies, how fast they've grown and Olivia is already in kindi. Aww.

This CNY season

It was our first CNY without Along around. Yes, work is keeping her back, tsk tsk. But nevertheless, was a good break from school and spending time with the family.

And this little boy here kept us all busy and happy :)

...and the week before that, one of our assignments for digital photography's was studio photography. So we had a simple introduction on how to use the lightings etc. And of course, knowing me, I'll say have some fun aside from just snapping for the sake of the assignment.

So I asked AD & wifey to hv some shots taken first, then all of us :)

Charge Up Conference '10

This definitely had to be one of the best conference, ever! I attended the photography stream which had awesome speakers; Jenny Sun, Louis Pang, Grace Tan and etc with Ruby, Leon and Daryl.

Day one and two was filled with workshops by them, very much helpful and practical. And it's such a lovely combo and package of getting Louis Pang & Jenny Sun! Tsk tsk, I still find it hard to believe I've met and listened and talked to them in REAL life after following their blogs for quite a while. Yeay! Thank you, God! :)

For the third day, we were divided into eight different groups, each with a goal to help Christian NGOs & ministries. What we had to do was basically, capture moments and compile them into a montage to be used by the NGOs and ministries as a promo video to get more volunteers. For my group, we were assigned to help the Street Ministry. Our venue was the Klang Bus Station opposite the Pasar Seni station and then later on to Jalan Sultan where they have their medical team, food sharing program and also a mini sharing session. It was very sad to see the amount of poor people, troubled, heart broken and at a very low point in their lives. It's definitely good to know there are a group of people out there helping them out, at least they know they're not alone and there's is hope in this world.

There are loads more photos that we took, but they actually don't like their photos being published on the internet etc. They are probably worried it might bring their family down, or even feel too ashamed to face the world ever again. I remember one gangster-looking lady (hehe, she scared me, no kidding yo!) pulling me and asking me whether the pictures are going on tv / the newspaper? So yeah, I guess a few would do yeah.

And lastly, a huge hug and big thank you to the task force team, especially Choon Ean for organizing such an amazing conference. Food was good, people were lovely, speakers were wonderful, pictures were amazing. Till the next Charge Up 2011!

Meet them five, the daddy, the mummy, the koko, the cheche and titi :) a very loving and warm family, was definitely fun shooting them. the weather was oh so gloomy with only grey clouds in sight, thankfully, the sun came up not long after :) a lovely end to the year. enjoy some of the photos! wishing everyone a blessed happy new year :D

as soon as the sun came up, the kids headed straight to the playground. wushh, this surely drained my energy alright. but, it did give me a good exercise! haha

and then, it was so hot! so everybody had a quick dip to cool down ;)

the assignment was for our design principles class. to create designs for paper cups using lines, points and shapes.

and our paper cups are now sitting as display at the front lobby, yay! :D

Anna-rina had a sharing session with us ten yesterday at Maria's. Can't thank her enough for her willingness to have this session and tell us more bout photography, her experiences and knowledge. It was nice meeting her in person after following her on twitter and her blog. The other photo enthusiasts were all really cool as well, from students to part time photographers to full time ones too! Was a great session altogether. yay!

Blog hopping when i was bored, and found this website selling cute goodies by this lady named, Azza.

Chomel craft does cute lil hairclips in various different designs etc, for a very reasonable price and is done with passion and love. Quality wise- i'm very happy and satisfied. :) yay!

Also, it's very easy to order and all. U just need to email her, and once she gets back to you, just bank in the money and ur goodies will arrive in ur mailbox in about 2 days.

It's good for them kids, bcuz it has this anti-slip thing on the clip so it doesn't fall off easily and covers the teeth on clip so it doesn't hurt and clips are very easy to put on!

Ollie and Issie was indeed happy and had the clips on them right away, yay! :D

recently, i finally found some time after i got my macbookpro to try out ecazstudio @ machines and see how good their photo books are since i've heard numerous good reviews and have seen their calender and sample books at the store as well :) so decided to do a book to compile photos from Along's graduation in April.

so yes, ecazstudio and machines certainly didn't disappoint me. 'twas a very good job done in terms of printing and quality. am very satisfied with the outcome and the price was fairly reasonable! yay! definitely will be going to them for future books etc. woohoo! :D

been busy and am going to be busy busy busy and BUSIER this weekend with assignments to finish. arghhh! plenty of drawing and painting to be done. i've got an appointment with the O tomo morning, need to catch some sleep now! have a good weekend everybody, hopefully i'll have time to drop by the KLPF@MV tomo! :)

ahh i miss having time to go photo snappin'. but that's okay, looking fwd to shooting next week and the week after! woOt!

KLUE Blue Chili Award '09

Hah, i can't even believe myself for not actually dying to go for the Man Utd match in Bkt Jalil today. I myself have no idea why, probably too lazy to go with the crazy crowd whether by car or train, i'm sure it'll be packed bum to bum. But that's okay, my dream still is watching my first Man Utd match live in Old Trafford one day, God willing. :) I got back in time to watch the match on TV, and I must say, Malaysia did very well. 3-2 wasn't that bad compared to the score sheets previous years. But on the other hand, the MU players were probably exhausted and finding it difficult with the crazy humid hazy weather when us locals are already feeling uncomfortable, tsk tsk! I guess the 80,000 crowd was well entertained with the 5 goals.

So yeah, instead i headed to KLCC for the KLUE Blue Chili Award '09 since Su aka Boss was one of the finalist. So Amelia and I went to lend support to her at the Apartment, KLCC.

The MC was trying to crack some jokes, but failed miserably, tsk tsk! :P

The whole event was pretty b-double-o-ring overall and fast indeed. I think it only lasted for bout an hour or so. Haha. Rawr.

Oh well, the rapper dude won.

But that's okay, making it to the top finalists was pretty awesome enough :) Yay! Boss is a winner to us, at least, achieving so much already at just 23. We're all very proud of you! :D

and of course, little girl loves both you and Delectable! :)

It's been almost a week since I needed to go to Delectable. Now it kinda feels weird that the day goes by without me having to say, "Hello, good morning"; "Our cakes start at a base price of a thousand ringgit (pause, and see how they'd react, i love those that that take it calmly); "We have three yummy flavours, Teddy, Lulu and Jo..."; "You've gotta try our 7 sins of choc..."; "Ahaa, you came back for more! :) . It used to be a basic routine stuck in my head. Oh, and of course I miss seeing customers that'd come back saying, "Hi Nicole, I've come back for more. The children loved it", "Hello, I'm *****. Pls save 2 sins for me, I'll come collect at 8pm", etc etc etc. I miss having to wait for 2pm to come and Aida will walk in. Seeing what new cute fancy handbag she brought to work this time. I miss taking the lrt to bangsar and have time to ponder bout things. I miss the neighbours passing by on their way to the loo and saying hello. I miss it when i followed the dress code schedule and every night I'll be thinking what to wear the next day. I miss cutting ribbons and making boxes with Amelia. I miss those ladies that would come in and buy a bag full of stuff once u talk just a lil to them. I miss seeing those handsome gay guys in Gardens. I miss having lil kids come by the store and go gaga over the cupcakes. I miss seeing boyfriends wanting to buy girlfriends cupcakes. I miss working with Enrique bcuz we'll definitely hit our target sales. And I miss boss and her family going, "Little girl, ....". Yes yes, will definitely need to pay a visit next week with Enrique and Amelia. :)

On the other hand, Princess is leaving soon for Singapore. And now, I completely regret taking up the job for DBP's talkshow thing bcuz shooting is on this weekend. But she's told me to be a good girl, and go ahead with the shooting. She'll come back often or we'll go down instead. Yay!

Don't think bcuz we call her Princess she's very princess like, she's one toughie, so no messing with her. She's definitely going to do extremelyyyyy well, i tell you! And will be doing my wedding dress, yes? She'll make it even bigger than Vera Wang! You know you always have Nic's back, and i strongly believe u wont let me down. And thank you for always believing in me pursuing photography. I can't wait to do your wedding shots. Hee! Don't you dare forget ur twin, i tell you! Lalaff you long time. (And i know your reply to this! :) ) Big hugssssss, muah!

KLUE Urbanscapes '09. Just the three of us; Ai-li, Princess and myself. We endured the jam there. Walked under the super hot blazing sun. (ps; thank u abby for the umbrella u got Al) Shopped at Marketplace the whole entire time. Fed our hungry tummies with yummy hotdog's from Palate Pallete. Quenched our thrist from the cafeteria inside the building, phew. We were so desperate for H2O! Snapped a little in between shopping. Met a few friends there. Wished I just went to see Azalia's photo exhibition. Apparently security wasn't very tight bout the pass. Rawr. (Next time I'll go, Azalia! :D) Oh wells, then we made our way home after a coupla of hours searching for good deals. Definitely a day well spent. XxXx.

Oh, hooray, come rejoice with me. After bout 2 yrs or so, the braces are finally off. It feels oh so good to be able to feel my teeth once again. But of course, retainers would be coming very soon in a coupla days. But it's all good for now. hee. Had to go on soft diet for lunch (rawr, when i first put it on pun soft diet; after taking them off it's likewise as well, tsk!) so i settled for some tosai. Can't wait for Korean tonight! wheee~

Last Day.

Blink blink, and yesterday marked my last day at Delectable; after about close to three months working there. It's been very fun and interesting working there since i got back NS. I've definitely learned a lot of stuff, be it from dealing with customers, to answering emails and phone calls, taking product photography, finding suppliers, meeting people, managing the store, etc etc etc. Grr, i'll be missing looking at them yummy looking cakes, cupcakes, choc desserts which i lovelovelove. And of course, I'll be missing the Boss, Aida, Amelia, Enrique, D, Reen, Azalia, and the rest. Working with them was awesome blossom! Oh, not to forget, i'll miss seeing the regular customers and friendly neighbours around the shop too :( But oh well, life goes on, college is calling. But i'll fo sho come by to visit them whenever i can, and get myself some choclatey goodies i know i'll be craving in no time. sigh*

We had a post birthday celebration/quality time together before she heads down south abroad to R*ffl*s. We headed to TS for some karaoke, whoa yeah! with impromptu photo taking sessions in between singing. Will definitely want a photo shoot when all can make it. Ishreen and Bea couldn't make it this time around :( So yes; we sang our hearts out, thank god for no alcohol for us, if not, god knows what would've happened with the level of hyper and highness of us. haha, we ate and ate and ate the endless supply of buffet, and we posed happily for a good 100 or so photos; pretty satisfying photos despite the low light in the room. Ah, we will definitely be missing more of these times together. So my dear princess, hope you enjoyed your day and presents from us all. Much love always.

it's just a coupla days more till the end of the month, then work at Delectable will be over; college will be starting soon, hee! and hopefully there'll be more time to spend with the camera, with the girls and evenings to ball at school. ahh yes, anticipating it oh so much! :D but of course, i'm a lil sad to leave Delectable, but oh well, i miss having more time to spend ballin in the evening and then having mamak after while gossiping, bringing the camera out to click click and explore; coming back and inserting the memory card almost immediately in the card reader to have a look at the photos and start post editting, shopping from morning till evening with the girls; even if it's just window shopping, trying out in fitting rooms, movies or grabbing deals during the sale, lazing around at home after sleeping in, and watching my tv series online. which reminds me, i have yet to wash Along's graduation photos and update some new photos in new frames to be placed in the living room area. grr.

on the brighter side, sat will be spent with the girls, then mommy will be back from hk and then sunday will be her birthday plus father's day as well; so will be having din din with the Ngiau's, the Leong's and the Chan's. Ah, blissful weekend i'm looking forward to.

it's time to play!

had a hachoo and cough week, thankfully, i survived. the launch at Delectable last night was a success; it paid off staying up till 4am the night before. decided to postpone the theory driving test till maybe monday. was definitely too tired to take the test, haven't even had time to revise through one more time, the book has just been sitting in my handbag. haha. but so far today has been good, finally had a good night's sleep and have time to have yummy breakfast and edit photos; shopping later maybe? :) bliss.

working twelve hours straight is no joke,
if it wasn't for yesterday's wedding dinner, no way i'll do so many hours straight,
teramatlah penat especially when there's no one coming in.
haha.
but when we're busy, then it's fine, fully alert,
speshly when those cute lil babies and kids come by,
ahh, pure joy.
had a good catch up time with the cousins today for lunch too!

so yes, work at Delectable has been good,
it's quite sad thinking i'll be leaving pretty soon,
i've learned a lot since i started out end of march,
and i don't regret a single bit starting even so soon after i got back from ns,
felt like i nvr had a break since spm,
haha, it was spm-post spm-ns-results-work straight.
but of course, one week of sydney was great.
ah, thinking of leaving makes me realize that i'll actually be missing the yummy smells of the cupcakes, my fav choc truffles, and etc etc,
everything delectable i'm going to miss :(
and the people of course.
sigh.
but what to do, life goes on,
it felt the same during ns as well, huhu.

Season Two

Last weekend was hectic.
Did a total of approximately 30hours of shooting.
Wuusshhh, was exhausted by the end of it.
But it was fun and exciting overall.
Loved the make up artist this time around, Kak Sam.
Way better than the aunty we had last year. hehe.
Although, i kinda miss FINAS for it's big studio and space.
Filem Negara was kinda like half the size.
But i'm glad we managed all 13 episodes.
Despite some difficult boring topics we had.
Was good with new company speshly Naz,
had a great time hanging out with her, yet another photography addict! :)

So yes,
I MISS THE WHOLE LA2D crew,
Well done everybody, we did again :D
Much thanks to Aunty Lola for calling all of us permanent ones back.
Will put more photos soon, after i finish Sydney's album and get started on LA2D's.

i'm kinda excited and glad the day is finally here,
i was badly looking forward to it speshly during NS,
but then packing half way through now,

and i'll miss going to work everyday and HAZELNUT CHOC TRUFFLES! :(

had a fun cake delivery with su yin on sat.
finally found the wine which i like, the 5.5% brown bro's one we had during Ingrid's 17th.
did the tshirt design along wanted, but have yet to find a printing shop! hee.

ahh,
and it's monday yet again tomo,
back to work,
but there's just left four more days to sydney! :D :D
and a coupla weeks till LA2D shooting yet again,
yes, i've agreed to do another season with them,
hopefully all goes well.

ps; i think i need to carry to camera like EVERYWHERE now.
i keep imagining photos to be taken when i'm sitting in the car looking outside the window;
today on the MRR2, there were like 5 shades of the mountains, wuaaaaaa, so pretty!
or while walking in the mall, or even just like today too, seeing hunter lie down with his muka
kesian and uncle SK in the background reading his papers relaxing by the patio.

ahh bliss, i can't wait to get there;
to take photos like there's no tomorrow,
capture precious and planned moments of along's graduation,

Chin Yee dear, i just read through your blog and came across the post u wrote bout NS and that lil bit bout me.
So here goes in return, a lil something bout you.

This lil petite size, Chin Yee.
One of the locals which i'm oh so glad to have known her,
She's very friendly and sweet looking,
but don't you under estimate this young lady,
she can be very tough when it comes to certain issues,
and she'll stand up for what's right,
so no messing around with her.
and i have to say thank you once again,
for always making sure i'm alright on sundays when we go to church,
for the photo frame which reminds me of you saying nicky bear,
for the good luck msgs while i was in bintulu,
for always sitting by the court and cheering for me during netball,
for being easy to talk,
and for being my partner in crime on sundays. *winks!

Sorry for the long absence from updating,
been busy at work :)
Just incase you don't know yet, i'm helping Su Yin (cookingismypassion.blogspot.com / delectable.com.my) out now till i enroll into coll in the june/july intake.
Go check out her websites,
you'll have a look for urself how awesome this lady is,
at only twenty three, she has accomplished so much already,
and is definitely letting her dreams and passion bringing her far.

It's been fun and exciting these coupla days,
seeing her do all those baking etc is way cool and sgt sedap! :D,
helping her out when siap je buat beratus2, so the happy and satisfying,
huhu.
it's definitely oh so fun working with them two, Su Yin and El,
they may be loud and crazy wacky but that's what makes them great to work with,
never a dull moment working the whole day long,
everyday is a learning experience i enjoy and treasure.

Meet, Princess a.k.a Alyssa.
Dec 27th 2008, the day she became my twin.
She's the kakak, i'm the adik.
Thank god i had her through out NS,
Even before going, all those ns-shopping-days was ultimate fun,
till making our way from bkt jalil-klia-miri's airport-kem miri and back,
and likewise when we went back for the cny break,
till we finally finished 2 months plus and got back to good ol' KL.
Just bcuz i call her princess, don't you underestimate this young lady,
she's my tough princess that made it through ns very well,
thank you princess,
for always being there whenever i needed you in camp,
for always lending me support speshly during the netball tourney,
for making sure i drank enuff water when i was down with the cough n flu,
for korban-ing ur wax supply when i had that crazy ulcer attack,
for being the first one to teman me brave through the cold shower the 1st day we got there,
for showing me the right way to wash clothes,
for those random conteng-contengs on my notebook,
for going together with me tipu-ing ppl we're twins, (*laughs* winks!)
for always understanding instantly code names i make up,
for sharing synders with me bcuz u know i love eating 'em,
for being the most comfy and easiest person to shop with even in miri,
for being my favourite one to take pics of me when i play ball,
for teaching me how to draw my signature trademark camera,
for day dreaming with nicky bout what's to come in 5-10 yrs time,
for trusting me to be your wedding photographer,
for those silly gossip times while lying on ur bed,
for taking food when u know nicky can't make the Q in time,
for sending nicky breakfast the morning after bintulu,
for tahan-ing with nicky's karenah,
and for everything else you shud know as well since we have some kinda telephaty don't we? ;)

I have finally finished NS.
Phew.
Said my goodbyes and headed back on the 11th of March.
Left Miri at 1125hours.
I'll definitely miss the gorgeous skies i get see everyday there,
the beautiful stars,
the icky dirty toilet,
the lining up to get our food and wash our trays,
the people i spend my 24hours a day there,
the padang kawad for pt pagi, kawad and ball training,
the medic where i have carried so many people there,
the yummy food and company on thurs & fri nights,
dragging myself to wake up 5am,
rushing up to shower and seeing who gets the shower room first,
all the JL's,
the trip to the Similajau Camp in Bintulu for the ball tourney,
all my dorm mates,
the freaking steep hill at Soon Hup Villa which they make us climb,
and many many more memories i'll definitely keep close in my heart.

So i've been checking their website since Sat, and no news. Grr. So i decided to ring them up today, so the girl told me to call this other number, which i did, and it was ENGAGED, TWICE! Maybe it was lunch time? 2pm? But the other dept answered my call! Argghhhh! Then i had to go deliver the photobook n all, so no more time! will try again tomo, wish me luckkkkkk!
